Howgill Image Come & Play

Drop in sessions in the Daniel Hay Library, on Thursdays in term time from 12:30- 2:30.
I initially set up this group after meeting with Library staff and realising that there could be benefits to holding a carer and toddler group in town and particularly on a Thursday; which is market day.
The aims of the group are to give the children and families opportunities to socialise and share skills. With a range of equipment and activities on offer.
It is very much a get stuck in group: with an expectation that carers will be actively involved in the children’s play. Tidy up time is a great example of this as the words are barely out of my mouth and the room is cleared.
I give all credit of the success of this group to all of the parents/ carers children and babies who have supported and led the way. Developing it into something; which seems to be enjoyable and fun/ it certainly is for me.
At song time we have had many star performances, the actions and dancing have amazed and entertained us all. One Grandad had a starring role in The Wheels On The Bus.
I hope that this group continues and love every moment, spending time observing the beautiful relationships between children and interested adults.
We also have a joint working relationship with Library Staff.
