These difficulties could be due to the illness or sudden absence of a partner, other parents may be finding it difficult to cope with several young children. Alternatively, a parent may be experiencing loneliness, isolation or financial difficulties. Inexperienced parents may need practical help and reassurance, whilst other parents may just need someone to talk to.If you think that your family would benefit from Family Support, please contact the Family Support Organiser. They will arrange a time to visit you at home, so you can learn more about the scheme and say exactly what you need help with. The organiser will then arrange for an experienced, trained volunteer to visit you and your family regularly at home. The volunteer will continue to visit until your family has come through its difficult patch. When everyone agrees, the volunteer will then move on to help another family. This service is available free of charge to all families in West Cumbria.
